Gen. Stephen R. Lyons (left), commander, U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), meets with Houston Mills (right), Vice President of Flight Operations & Safety at the United Parcel Service (UPS) facility in Louisville, Ky., Sept.10, 2001. While at UPS, Lyons toured the UPS Air Operations Center, discussed cyber security, and built on the strong partnership between the company and USTRANSCOM. After his trip to UPS, Lyons visited the University of Louisville to speak with students, faculty members, McConnell Scholars and members of the U.S. Army’s Strategic Broadening Seminar about leadership. The McConnell Scholars Program is a leadership and scholarship program at the University of Louisville. The Army’s Strategic Broadening Seminar exposes Army leaders to new concepts that challenge their preconceived ideas about military, business, and economic problem-solving and conflict resolution.
