A Japanese service member with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Air Rescue Squadron 71 rescues a simulated casualty during a search and rescue training exercise off the coast of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Oct. 5, 2021. The exercise demonstrated Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Air Rescue Squadron 71’s ability to quickly respond to crisis and showcased the aircraft’s air-sea rescue capabilities.
