Josh Wildblood, a submarine squadron communications officer, with the 11th Naval Submarine Squadron at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Oct. 12, 2021. 9th Communication Battalion participated in the exercise with 11th Naval Submarine Squadron to establish field expedient communications with U.S. Navy Submariners. The importance of this exercise is to furnish undersea advantages provided by submariners that are robust and credible in a conventional capability that deters both nuclear and conventional conflict.
