US Marine Corps LCpl William Miller of Boston, Massachusetts stands next to SgtMaj John Beckett after receiving the Corporals Course 1-22 Gung-Ho award. Miller was voted Gung-Ho recipient because the Marines of 1-22 believed he best possessed the intellectual honesty and moral courage to put aside self-interest for the good of his unit, that he demonstrated the tenacity and self-discipline in keeping with what is known as the avenger spirit and the gung ho attitude of the Marine warrior.
