FORT BELVOIR, Virginia - Master Sgt. Anthony Florence, 322nd Military History Detachment (left), and Sgt. 1st Class Lamont Bradford, 315th Military History Detachment, closely inspect a Civil War era flag of the 1st Iowa Infantry Regiment Colored during U.S. Army Center of Military History Annual Training. The regiment was an African-American infantry regiment with six companies of the 1st Iowa Infantry Colored organized at Keokuk, Iowa and mustered into Federal forces on October 11, 1863 and on March 11, 1864 was redesignated the 60th United States Colored Infantry Regiment.
