U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Wyatt Weinbrecht, a transmissions system operator with 2nd Marine Regiment, stands on a bucking chute while preparing a bull for a ride at the Professional Armed Forces Rodeo Association (PAFRA) World Championships in Topeka, Kansas Oct. 8th, 2021. Weinbrecht is a native of Carmi, Illinois and joined the Marine Corps in 2018. He started competing in rodeo events when he was four years old and started riding bulls during his freshman year of high school. Weinbrecht stated that he tries to enter in every rodeo event that takes place within driving distance of his permanent duty station, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During the PAFRA World Championships, Weinbrecht competed in the bull riding and saddle bronc events. He finished in the top 10 for bull riding and rookie of the year for saddle bronc.
