U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to the amphibious docking landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44), lower the flight deck nets in preparation for V-BAT operations, Jan. 23, 2022. The 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) is underway for Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX is the final pre-deployment exercise that certifies the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and 22nd MEU’s ability to conduct military operations through joint planning, and execute challenging and realistic scenarios.
