Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat: Another of the Grumman "Cat" fighters, this is a Hellcat. This F6F-3 example arrived at Langley from Floyd Bennett Field in New York for the NACA early in 1943. After performing test work all though World War II, it was surveyed in 1946.
