Maj. Charles Mangliar, Royal Canadian Air Force, who serves as Canadian Liaison Officer to the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence, stands for a photo Jan. 31, 2022.
No stranger to the Home of Army Aviation, Mangliar previously served as the USAACE Canadian LNO from 2011 to 2014. He has rotary-wing and fixed-wing experience in the Canadian military (active and reserve components) and in the civilian community, as well as two deployments to Afghanistan.
In his role as LNO, Mangliar informs and advises, builds key relationships, assists on common projects, and works with various entities to answer requests for information. In his words, his job is "one foot in the strategic, and one foot in the diplomatic." He enjoys his time in the South, and appreciates the opportunity to be proactive on the job.
USAACE helps the U.S. Army maintain mutually-beneficial alliances and partnerships through officers like Mangliar, enabling the strategic readiness necessary for Large Scale Combat Operations and to provide an unmatched competitive advantage. The sharing of information through valued liaison officers is critical to help set conditions for our Army to fight and win. (U.S. Army photo by Kelly Morris)
