U.S. Marines with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment breach the surface of a frozen pond after being submerged as part of the “Hypothermia Lab,” a unique and intense training event held at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, California, Jan 26, 2022. The training the Marines participated in induced hypothermia in a safe and controlled environment and taught them to recover from its effects, improving their ability to recognize and fight hypothermia in a survival situation.
