Firefighters with the Camp Pendleton Fire Department, along with representatives from fire departments across Southern California, set their gear down before conducting an incident command exercise at the wastewater treatment plant in the 20 Area on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 9, 2022. The incident command exercise was part of a six-week hazardous material course hosted by CPFD. Graduates of the course become certified HAZMAT specialists and meet California’s training requirements for personnel to be part of a HAZMAT emergency response team outside of Department of Defense installations.
