Joe Fewell, the lead instructor of the hazardous material training course from the Industrial Emergency Council, guides students through an incident command exercise on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 09, 2022. The incident command exercise was part of a six-week hazardous material course hosted by the Camp Pendleton Fire Department. Graduates of the course become certified HAZMAT specialists and meet California’s training requirements for personnel to be part of a HAZMAT emergency response team outside of Department of Defense installations.
