Boeing B-29B Superfortress: Among the tests Langley performed with this Boeing B-29 Superfortress were dropping free-fall test bodies. Problems with engine cooling limited this aircraft's use in the role, and a replacement aircraft was sought out by the NACA. This B-29B was with the NACA from May 1945 until September 1946.
