CRYSTAL CITY, VA. (Feb. 16, 2022) - F-35 Joint Program Executive Officer (PEO), Lt. Gen. Eric Fick (far left), presents the prestigious Order of Daedalians Colonel Franklin C. Wolfe Weapons System Award for 2020 to F-35 Dual Capable Aircraft (DCA) Team Materiel Leader Lt. Col. Jason W. Shirley (center) and Commander, 461st Flight Test Squadron/Director, F-35 Integrated Test Force Lt. Col. Christopher “SIN” Campbell (far right). In 2020, the then 26-person F-35 DCA Team completed a vital development test campaign a full year ahead of schedule, which earned them this award. The award is presented annually to military or civilian individuals, groups or an organization determined to have contributed the most outstanding weapons system development which operates, in whole or in part, in the aerospace environment. The F-35 Joint Program Office is the Department of Defense's focal point for the 5th generation strike aircraft for the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, as well as for our International Partners and Foreign Military Sales Customers. The F-35 is the premier multi-mission, 5th generation weapon system. Its ability to collect, analyze and share data is a force multiplier that enhances all assets in the battle-space: with stealth technology, advanced sensors, weapons capacity, and range. The F-35, which has been operational since July of 2015, is the most survivable, and interoperable fighter aircraft ever built. (Photo by America Henry-Wingo)
