NAVAL STATION NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 16, 2022) Mike Amundson, from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, navigates a remote operated vehicle (ROV) used to inspect a ballast tank aboard USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) hosted the ROV tank inspection demonstration, attended by numerous engineering and innovation experts, to gain insight on how this technology could be impactful to ship maintenance. MARMC provides surface ship maintenance, management and oversight of private sector maintenance and fleet technical assistance to ships in the Mid-Atlantic region. (U.S. Navy Photo by Hendrick L.
