Estella Hernandez dressed as Clara Barton Feb. 17, 2022, during the C.C. Pinckney Elementary School’s Living History Museum. Hernandez chose to portray Barton because of her battlefield bravery as she supplied medical supplies and health care to injured Soldiers during the Civil War, earning her the nickname of Angel of the Battlefield. Barton would later become the visionary and founder of the American Red Cross.
