An Oklahoma Army National Guard Soldier removes marijuana plants from a grow house during a large-scale, multi-agency operation targeting criminal marijuana growth and trafficking in the southern region of Oklahoma, Feb. 22, 2022. The Oklahoma National Guard routinely supports civil authorities and partner agencies in numerous and sometimes overlapping emergencies, disasters, and major events. Guardsmen assisted in the removal of approximately 100,000 plants and 2,000 pounds of processed marijuana. The estimated value of the seizure is $500 million. OKNG answered the call to support the state with approximately 150 Guard members, 14 dump trucks, UH-60 Black Hawk and UH-72 Lakota helicopters, and numerous other heavy machinery to support the operation.
