AIEA, Hawaii (Feb. 23, 2022) Capt. James Meyer, commanding officer, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Hawaii, briefs U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael S. Regan on the Red Hill Well recovery process during a tour of the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility. The EPA is part of the Interagency Drinking Water System Team, a joint initiative in which the U.S. Navy is working closely with the Hawaii Department of Health, EPA and the U.S. Army to restore safe drinking water to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam housing communities through sampling and flushing, and the recovery of the Red Hill Well.
