A U.S. Air Force C-5M Super Galaxy takes off from Travis Air Force Base, California, March 15, 2022. As the Air Force’s largest strategic airlifter, the C-5M can carry more cargo farther distances than any other aircraft. The C-5M Super Galaxy strategic transport aircraft, a modernized version of the legacy C-5, was designed and manufactured by Lockheed Martin to extend the capability of the C-5 Galaxy fleet to remain in service at least until 2040.
