ESBJERG, DENMARK (April 6, 2022) Danish Lt. Col. Claus Klaris, Danish officer in charge of port operations, with arm extended, explains technical details of a marine transit of military equipment newly arrived in Denmark to U.K. Brig. Gen. Chris King, commander, 104th Theatre Sustainment Brigade, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. James M. Smith, commander, 21st Theater Sustainment Command and U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Robert Burke, deputy commanding general for support, V Corps. The port offloading of approximately 350 military vehicles demonstrates interoperability among Allies: U.S. and U.K. equipment shipped by the U.K. military to a Danish port. V Corps is America's Forward Deployed Corps in Europe and works alongside NATO Allies and regional security partners to provide combat ready forces, execute joint and multinational training exercises, and retain command and control for all rotational and assigned units in the European theater such as the 1st Infantry Division, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, 41st Field Artillery Brigade, and 4th Security Forces Assistance Brigade.
