Dr. Lisa O’Block, a vestibular physical therapist, demonstrates the posterior canalith repositioning maneuvers used to treat benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, one of the most common causes of vertigo. Helping her show how to do this is Paul Carbins, a medical massage therapist at the Traumatic Brain Injury Intrepid Spirit Center on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., on the first day of the first Brain Injury Awareness Month Conference hosted by the ISC on March 24.
