CDR Pendleton grew up in the Los Angeles, CA area and began his military career by enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1993, and served as an Operations Specialist aboard the USS Coronado AGF-11 in San Diego, CA from 1993 to 1997. He graduated from California State University Los Angeles in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and commissioned through Officer Candidate School in April of 2004.
In January of 2007, Lieutenant Junior Grade Pendleton reported to Navy Officer Recruiting Station Guam with, and served as the first ever Reserve Officer Recruiter for the Far East AOR for Navy Operational Support Center Guam. In 2010 Lieutenant Pendleton reported to Navy Recruiting District Los Angeles as a Canvasser Recruiter, and served as the district’s Reserve Programs Officer until 2014.
From February 2015 to November 2016, Lieutenant Commander Pendleton served as Officer Programs Officer for Navy Recruiting Command Region West in Millington, TN, directing all Officer Recruiting Programs for the western recruiting region. In 2017 Lieutenant Commander Pendleton reported to Navy Personnel Command and served as Branch Head for all Full-Time Support Enlisted Distribution.
After screening for Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC) Command, CDR Pendleton reported to NOSC Cincinnati as Commanding Officer from July of 2018 to July of 2020. CDR Pendleton also served as the Operational Support Officer for Naval Construction Group One until his transfer to Navy Talent Acquisition Group Pacific as the command’s Executive Officer in November of 2021.
In 2009, he graduated from National University with his Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, as well as his Professional in Human Resources Certification in 2015 and JPME Phase I in 2016. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (with 4 gold stars), Navy Achievement Medal and various other unit and campaign medals.
