Then 1st Sgt. Ricky Hamrick, the first sergeant for Southern European Task Force U.S. Army Reserve Augmentation (first row directly behind the guidon) poses for a photo with some of his Soldiers. Hamrick served 27 years in the active Army, Alabama National Guard and Army Reserve. He retired at the rank of sergeant major. He also has served 35 years as an Army civilian employee, starting out as a cook at the on-post club in Vicenza, Italy, in 1987.
