HUA HIN, Thailand – Green Berets with 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), and soldiers from the Royal Thai Army’s 2nd Special Forces Regiment take part in a culminating exercise, April 18-20, 2022. The final event included two days of joint reconnaissance, a 43 nautical mile maritime over-the-horizon movement, a combat rubber raiding craft beach landing, and a night raid on a complex target to capture a designated high value target. This training was a part of joint combined exchange training, a bilateral exercise that includes training on maritime operations, small unit tactics, jungle survival, tactical combat casualty care, and a jungle-based force-on-force exercise. A strong, forward-looking U.S.-Thai defense alliance, rooted in history, helps foster a free and open Indo-Pacific region where all countries in the region enjoy prosperity and peace.
