Master Sgt. Vaida George-Palik, the Southern European Task Force, Africa G4 Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, proudly displays artwork and jewelry from the Marshall Islands and the Island of Kosrae at USO Vicenza's Asian American, Pacific Islander Heritage Lunch on May 25, 2022.
George-Palik grew up on the Island of Kosrae, Micronesia, and says "compared to the United States, it is day and night. I grew up not needing money to survive, we depended on farming and fishing as our main source of food, owning our own home and land which did not require a rent payment. People from my country know how to do all kinds of handicrafts".
