    Staff Sgt. Jeffery M. Dawson received the Distinguished Service Cross, the nation's second highest medal for valor, during a ceremony on Fort Benning, Ga., Feb. 17, 2015. Dawson, the most highly decorated Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician in the history of the elite 28th Ordnance Company (EOD), recently retired after recovering from a combat-related gunshot wound that paralyzed him from the chest down.
