Morón Air Base, Spain, home of the 496th Air Base Squadron Matadors, plays a critical role in the United States’ ability to project airpower. With an aircraft ramp that can fit up to 23 C-17 Globemaster III aircraft and houses 5 million gallons of fuel on site, Morón AB is able to handle any mission that the United States European Command throws their way.
