Members of the Utah National Guard were proud to help start the Fourth of July weekend with a bang by providing a cannon salute to start Stadium of Fire celebrations, July 2, 2022, in Provo, at LaVell Edwards Stadium on the Brigham Young University campus.

The event kicked off with a combined color guard that included members from the Utah Air and Army National Guard along with other military branches, a flyover of F-35 fighter jets, the firing of the three 75mm howitzers rounds, Marie Osmond singing the national anthem backed by a choir, and an appearance by the U.S. Army’s Golden Knight skydiving team making a spectacular landing on the stadium field.

Fans enjoyed the hour-long Tim McGraw concert where they danced and sang along with many of his songs. Then came the grand finale of the evening, the largest stadium fireworks show in the U.S. Fireworks burst into the air perfectly timed to a powerful arrangement of hit songs celebrating Independence Day as the stadium was filled with fire.
