The Endeavor Class survey vessel was commissioned on July 14, 2022 at the Seabrook Harbor & Marine in New Orleans, La as the latest high speed data collection platform to support safe and efficient navigation of the Mississippi River from Venice through Southwest Pass to the Gulf of Mexico. The Hydrographic Survey Vessel was dedicated to Mr. Thomas G. Tobin, a employee of the Army Corps of Engineers that worked for the New Orleans District for over 30 years. Mr. Tobin passed in 2016 from cancer. Naming a new Corps vessel is fitting to the legacy of Mr. Tobin and a deserved honor to his surviving family.
