Lt. Gen. Daniel L. Karbler, commanding general of U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command; Lt. Gen. Maria B. Barrett, commanding general of U.S. Army Cyber Command; and Lt. Gen. Jonathan P. Braga, commanding general of U.S. Army Special Operations Command participate in a media roundtable after their space, cyber and special operations “Influence Triad” panel at the 25th annual Space and Missile Defense Symposium at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama, on Aug. 9. As an emerging joint concept, this “Influence Triad” will provide integrated deterrence and active campaigning options in competition, crisis, and conflict through synchronization of mutually supporting domain capabilities to shape the operational environment or create effects in support of strategic objectives. In this triad, special operations provides cyber access; cyber sets the conditions for special operations; and space effects enable both cyber and special operations or any combination thereof.
