Pavilions and picnic tables line the Maple Area at Lunga Recreation Facility on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, July 18, 2022. The large pavilions will be available by reservation and the 16 picnic table areas will be open on a first come first serve basis. Lunga Recreation Facility closed in 2012 due to the discovery of unexploded ordnance. Cleanup efforts are currently being made by Marine Corps Community Services Quantico and Navy Facilities Command Washington to restore Lunga as a safe and fun place for Marines and their families.
