Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Maj. Gen. The Governor thanked the National Guard leaders for their service during multiple domestic response missions including the COVID-19 response mission. The Governor presented Maj. Gen. Neely with the Illinois Distinguished Service Medal for his "leadership and poise" during the COVID-19 pandemic. Governor Pritzker spoke at the engagement held Aug. 19 at Manufacturing times Digital (MxD) in Chicago. The Illinois National Guard administered more than 1.87 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine and contributed more than 268,000 man-days to the vaccination effort in Illinois saving thousands of lives.
