Col. James C. Maker, Fort Meade Medical Department Activity and Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center Commander, right, and Fort Meade Medical Department Activity and Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center Command Sgt. Maj. Das’Chara C. Champ, left, celebrate the grand opening of a ScriptCenter for refill prescriptions with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Fort Meade Post Exchange Aug. 19. The PX ScriptCenter is the second kiosk installed on Fort Meade—the first located at the Main Pharmacy at Kimbrough— and provides a safe, secure and controlled way to pick up refill prescriptions after the PX Pharmacy has closed. The installation of the automated pharmacy pick up was a collaboration between the Pharmacy, Fort Meade and AAFES teams. Beneficiaries will be able to pick up medications directly at the kiosk by-passing the calling process. In one week of being operational, PX Pharmacy staff have loaded more than 130 prescriptions into the ScriptCenter. (Defense Health Agency photo extracted from video by Michelle Gonzalez)
