U.S. Marine Corps veterans who served with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, place dog tags on a cross representing fallen Marines and Sailors from Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of a memorial hike at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Aug. 19, 2022. Veterans who served with 3/5 reunited to construct a memorial for their fallen brothers who were killed in action. The hike was conducted as part of a retirement for Maj.
