U.S. Army Spc. Brian Johnston, a plumber with the 1436th Engineer Vertical Construction Company, excavates a water line trench on Prince Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Aug. 26, 2022. The 1436th EVCC augments a variety of 378th ECES shops, including the water and fuel systems, the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning shop, the pavements, and construction equipment shop and the structures shop. The water and fuel systems shop maintains all of PSAB’s fuel and water lines, storage and distribution. To do this Airmen and Soldiers manage the plumbing and wastewater collection systems essential to the base’s quality of life. Though PSAB will remain semi-permanent, construction and maintenance occur to accept follow-on forces, increase air and land power capabilities, and reaffirm the U.S.’s growing partnership with the KSA.
