PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 30, 2022) – U.S. Marines with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit and U.S. Navy Sailors with amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) intercept and gain control of training vessel USNS Atlas during a maritime intervention operation training exercise, Aug. 30. A force in readiness, the 13th MEU trains to rapidly respond to crises in all domain environments through naval power projection. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P.
