UNITAS 2022: Marines from Brazil and the United States prepare for UNITAS LXIII

Staff Sgt Kevin Garcia (left), D Company, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve receives a handmade Amphibious Assault Vehicle model and plaque from his counterpart, Cabo (Brazilian Marine Corps corporal) Marcos Teixeria, batalhao de viatruas anfibias (Amphibious Vehicle Battalion) following a training evolution during Exercise UNITAS LXIII, Sept. 7, 2022. This moment is an example of the strengthened partnerships and lifelong bonds amongst servicemembers from the 19 countries (Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Namibia, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, Uruguay, and the United States) participating in Exercise UNITAS 2022. UNITAS, throughout its 63 iterations, has proven to develop and sustain relationships that improve the capacity of our reemerging and enduring maritime partners to achieve common objectives. Additionally, the military-to-military exchanges foster friendly, mutual cooperation, understanding, and respect among participating navies and marine corps.
