PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 1, 2022) – Cpl. Nicholas Lopez, right, a motor team mechanic and Lance Cpl. Brendan Canevari, a motor team operator, assigned to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducts an inventory for tools to support the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) in the welldeck of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), Sept.1. Periodic inventory of tools prevents loss or misplacement of mission-critical items while doing fieldwork. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), is underway conducting integrated training operations with the 13th MEU in the U.S. 3rd Fleet to prepare for an upcoming deployment.
