The flight deck crew of the USS Mesa Verde (LPD-19) wait for inbound aircraft while afloat off the coast of Brazil in support of exercise UNITAS LXIII, Sept. 16, 2022. Naval integration, between the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps, compliment each others capabilities while strengthening the overall force and ensuring mission success throughout the exercise. For the last 63 years, UNITAS has developed and sustained relationships that improve the capacity of our reemerging and enduring maritime partners to achieve common objectives. Additionally, the military-to-military and service-to-service exchanges foster friendly, mutual cooperation and understanding among participating navies and marine corps.
