    Introducing the LCAC Series 100

U.S. Marines and Sailors examine the new Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) 100 class hovercraft during a tour at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Virginia, Sept. 29, 2022. Throughout the tour, Brig. Gen. John F. Kelliher III, the deputy commander of Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic, Marine Forces Command, Marine Forces Northern Command, and Brig. Gen. Marcus B. Annibale, the director of expeditionary warfare with the Chief of Naval Operations, surveyed the propelling systems, interior mechanics and received a live demonstration of LCAC-104. The LCAC 100 class was designed to carry the legacy of the traditional LCAC while introducing expeditionary advancements such as heavier weight capacities and integration of new technology. LCACs have been essential to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps amphibious operations and have provided humanitarian aid during natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the catastrophic 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti in 2010.
