SASEBO, Japan (July 12, 2022) - Master Diver Steelworker Chief Jacob Scarlett and Steelworker 1st Class Ethan Sobalvarro assigned to Underwater Construction Team TWO (UCT-2) Construction Dive Detachment Bravo (CDD/B) install a custom-made patch over a large sink hole along the quay wall of Akasaki Wharf, located at US Navy Fuel Station Akasaki in Sasebo, Japan. Akasaki Wharf is one of the primary fueling piers for Navy assets within the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR). UCT-2 CDD/B has been tasked with executing temporary repairs at Akasaki Wharf to prevent further undermining while the pier awaits a permanent repair.
