STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss.— Rear Admiral Ron Piret, commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, visited Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) for a curriculum review of the joint masters program and to meet with students, professors and institute leadership. The Joint Program offers a master’s degree program for U.S. Naval Officers, and more than 85 officers have received this degree dating back to the first award in 1970. The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is a private, nonprofit research and higher education facility dedicated to the study of marine science and engineering. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command directs and oversees more than 2,500 globally distributed military and civilian personnel who collect, process and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to make better decisions faster than the adversary, August 10, 2022.
