During the summer of 2022, rangers at Crooked Creek Lake in Ford City, Pennsylvania planted flowers to attract more pollinators, such as butterflies and bees. Crooked Creek Lake is owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District to provide flood protection for the lower Allegheny and Ohio rivers. The facility offers year-round recreation opportunities such as boating, fishing, ice fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, swimming, metal detecting, picnicking and disc golf.
