For Senior Airman Victoria Hudlin, 405th Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron duty controller, her day to day operations as a duty controller at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, are to coordinate patient movement and task crews accordingly so they can effectively provide lifesaving care not only on the ground, but in the air as well. “Providing patient care is what’s fulfilling for me. Making sure whether or not it could be someone with abdominal pain and they need gastrointestinal surgery, or it could be something like someone had a concussion and we need to get them where they need to go as soon as possible. For instance, this one person literally had a concussion and needed to go right away. That right there was an adrenaline rush. It felt like I was serving my purpose.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Dalton Williams)
