PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 31, 2022) – U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Chevaughn K. Dixon a quality surveillance Marine with Marine Support Squadron-371, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 362 (Reinforced), 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, tests the quality of fuel for aircraft aboard amphibious transport dock USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), Aug. 31. The mobility and sustainability provided by amphibious platforms enable the Navy-Marine Corps team to extend the reach of our capabilities. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P. Murtha, is underway conducting integrated training operations with the 13th MEU in the U.S. 3rd Fleet to prepare for an upcoming deployment. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Quince D. Bisard)
