U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, U.S. Space Command commander, hosts members of the Institute for Defense Analysis – Defense Science Studies Group at USSPACECOM headquarters, Peterson Space Force Base, Colo., Sept. 23, 2022. During their visit IDA and DSSG learned about the steps that USSPACECOM is taking to reach full operational capability as well as the missions that have been accomplished in the three years of the command as well as the challenges the command faces in the future. U.S. Space Command accomplishes its mission through coordination and collaboration among the U.S. interagency and is key to assuring consistent whole-of-government positions intended to preserve the benefits of space for future generations.
