U.S. Army Capt. Jake Jeffire, commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division (3-1 ABCT) symbolically replaced the 1st Cavalry Division patch worn on the left sleeve of 1st Sgt. Joseph Hays, first sergeant of HHC of the 3-1 ABCT uniform, with the NATO Battlegroup patch representing the commitment to the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup Poland mission, during the NATO patch ceremony in Bemowo Piskie, Poland, Oct. 21, 2022. The 3-1 ABCT is among other units assigned to the 1st Infantry Division, proudly working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America's forward deployed corps in Europe.
