U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Joseph B. Hays, first sergeant of Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) of the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division (3-1 ABCT) stands at the front of (HHC) after having symbolically replaced the 1st Cavalry Division patch worn on the left sleeve of the uniform, with the NATO Battlegroup patch representing the commitment to the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup Poland mission at Bemowo Piskie, Poland, Oct. 21, 2022. The 3-1 ABCT is among other units assigned to the 1st Infantry Division, proudly working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America's forward deployed corps in Europe.
