Kevin Pickard, chief of staff, Navy Region Northwest, cut a ribbon during a ceremony for a newly-completed service pier located on Naval Base Kitsap – Bangor, October 19, 2022. The ceremony marked the completion of a major infrastructure project that will support the arrival of fast attack submarines, including the planned change of homeport for the Seawolf-class fast-attack submarines USS Seawolf (SSN 21) and USS Connecticut (SSN 22) from Naval Station Kitsap-Bremerton to Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor.
