Marines with the Marine Security Guard Detachment at U.S. Embassy Ouagadougou hosted their Region Headquarters for a command visit and took them to view the Monument of National Heroes on May 29, 2022. The monument was a project designated by the President of Burkina Faso in 1987, which was meant to honor their warriors who were killed during the revolution that brought him to power.
